Safety in the Equine Sector

Injuries and accidents in a horse stable and horse sport activities may have serious consequences for the horse stable employees, clients, visitors, horses and others involved. It is the most important for every horse operation to take action to prevent human injuries or diseases. This involves identifying hazards, taking corrective actions to remove hazards, and adopting good practices in daily work routines to prevent injuries. In the Innoequine project we have produced and compiled tools that can help in preventive efforts. If you get injured or sick, who will feed your horse?

Safety web tool content:

  • Stable safety map provides an overall picture of the multiple risks involved in the horse stable.
  • Horse stable safety checklist is a stable management tool for reviewing safety and health issues and areas of improvement.
  • Good practices provide practical examples and photos that can be adopted to make working safer and more efficient.
  • Links presents a list of useful web pages to promote safety on horse sector.
